Nice but not too nice, lest some get the wrong idea.<\/p>\n<p>Parents are usually more concerned about coming up with ideas for small tokens for the class that do not involve candies or food.<\/p>\n<p>Never fear! We found a blogger <a href=\"http:\/\/www.creatingreallyawesomefreethings.com\/non-candy-valentines-day-sayings\/\">online <\/a>who came up with both sayings for homemade cards and small non-food gifts that can go with them:<\/p>\n<p>\u2022\tYou make the world sparkle (gift: glitter)<br \/>\n\u2022\tYou are toe-tally special, friend (gift: nail polish)<br \/>\n\u2022\tDoh you want to be my Valentine? (gift: play dough)<br \/>\n\u2022\tYou have mad skills  (gift: mad libs)<br \/>\n\u2022\tYou are just plane awesome (gift: toy plane)<br \/>\n\u2022\tHave a ball this Valentine\u2019s Day (gift: bouncy ball)<br \/>\n\u2022\tYou are chalk-ful of fun (gift: chalk)<br \/>\n\u2022\tI think you are just write (gift: a fun pen)<br \/>\n\u2022\tYou rule (gift: ruler)<\/p>\n<p>Share these ideas with your kids and their nanny or babysitter and let their creativity take over! If they want to come up with their own cards and sayings, hit the dollar store to see what other school supplies (such as notebooks, pencils, pencil toppers, erasures and book marks) or toys (like sidewalk chalk, temporary tattoos, lip gloss, matchbox cars, and bubbles) inspire them.<\/p>\n<p>If you are budget conscious, get construction paper, markers, stickers and glitter and set them off on card making. Whatever their heart\u2019s desire!
