The problem is \u2013 kids do not! And more importantly, <a href=\"https:\/\/dev.sosgarde.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/bigstock-Angry-Child-Yelling-58855205.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-1281\" src=\"https:\/\/dev.sosgarde.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/bigstock-Angry-Child-Yelling-58855205-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"Angry Child Yelling\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sosgarde.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/bigstock-Angry-Child-Yelling-58855205-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/sosgarde.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/bigstock-Angry-Child-Yelling-58855205.jpg 900w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>kids do what their parents do<\/span><span id=\"E83\"> more than what their parents say<\/span><span id=\"E84\">. That is right: you have your very own personal mini-me or maybe even a few of them.<\/span><span id=\"E85\"> Although every kid is different, <\/span><span id=\"E86\">most do mimic the behaviour of their parents. <\/span><\/p>\n<p id=\"E87\"><span id=\"E88\">Why is it i<\/span><span id=\"E89\">mportant to recognise<\/span><span id=\"E90\"> this fact<\/span><span id=\"E91\">? <\/span><span id=\"E92\">It is important because you will need to be mindful of your actions as you will soon seem them reflected through your children.<\/span><\/p>\n<p id=\"E93\"><span id=\"E94\">For example, have you ever seen a kid being disrespectful to the family nanny or a babysitter at the park? Worse yet, have you seen your kid behaving this way? If so, have you considered where they learned that this type of behaviour? Yep, you guessed it; the kids learned to act that way from <\/span><span id=\"E95\">adults<\/span><span id=\"E96\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p id=\"E97\"><span id=\"E98\">The nanny or a frequent babysitter <\/span><span id=\"E99\">is<\/span><span id=\"E100\"> like a member of the family. Would you treat any other member of the family disrespectfully? The answer <\/span><span id=\"E101\">to that <\/span><span id=\"E102\">should be no!<\/span><span id=\"E103\"> And so you should also treat your nanny and babysitters with respect and kindness. <\/span><\/p>\n<p id=\"E104\"><em><span id=\"E105\"><strong>What does that mean? Treating someone with respect and kindness means:<\/strong> <\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li id=\"E106\" class=\"qowt-stl-ListParagraph qowt-li-0_0 qowt-list qowt-nospace-after\"><span id=\"E107\">listening and acknowledging<\/span><\/li>\n<li id=\"E108\" class=\"qowt-stl-ListParagraph qowt-li-0_0 qowt-list qowt-nospace-before qowt-nospace-after\"><span id=\"E109\">treating them with dignity<\/span><\/li>\n<li id=\"E110\" class=\"qowt-stl-ListParagraph qowt-li-0_0 qowt-list qowt-nospace-before qowt-nospace-after\"><span id=\"E111\">not raising your voice or displacing your frustration for someone else onto them<\/span><\/li>\n<li id=\"E112\" class=\"qowt-stl-ListParagraph qowt-li-0_0 qowt-list qowt-nospace-before qowt-nospace-after\"><span id=\"E113\">using good manners (please, thank you)<\/span><\/li>\n<li id=\"E114\" class=\"qowt-stl-ListParagraph qowt-li-0_0 qowt-list qowt-nospace-before qowt-nospace-after\"><span id=\"E115\">Respecting privacy and personal time<\/span><\/li>\n<li id=\"E116\" class=\"qowt-stl-ListParagraph qowt-li-0_0 qowt-list qowt-nospace-before qowt-nospace-after\"><span id=\"E117\">Keeping commitments <\/span><\/li>\n<li id=\"E118\" class=\"qowt-stl-ListParagraph qowt-li-0_0 qowt-list qowt-nospace-before\"><span id=\"E119\">And probably many more things you already know!<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p id=\"E120\"><span id=\"E121\">To keep it simple \u2013 remember this old saying: Treat others as you would be to be treated. If you can pass this test every time, you will probably be doing pretty well. <\/span><\/p>\n<p id=\"E122\"><span id=\"E123\">Leading by example is important not only in formal leadership roles at work or in community organis<\/span><span id=\"E125\">a<\/span><span id=\"E127\">tions.
