Spring is in the air \u2013 everywhere you look around. Flowers are blooming, birds are chirping. <\/span>And you know what that \"Smiling<\/a>means\u2026. It is t<\/span>ime for the Spring Clean!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Some people think spring c<\/span>lean<\/span>ing<\/span> means<\/span> giving everything a good and through wash, from top to bottom. But in today\u2019s world in which we have more and more material belongings, spring cleaning is also a good time for a good clean out or clean sweep!<\/span> <\/span>This is especially<\/span> true<\/span> if <\/span>you have kids as they outgrow t<\/span>heir clothes, shoes and \u2018favourite toys\u2019 so quickly. <\/span>Here are some tips to help get the job done.<\/span><\/p>\n

Project Clean Sweep<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

Okay \u2013 time to gather yo<\/span>ur inner strength and<\/span> get rid of things! We all have friends who have no qualms about <\/span>throwing or giving things away and who always<\/span> maintain a sparse home full of zen-like charm. But that is not most of us! <\/span>It does need to be done however. Take a good hard look at what clothes and shoes no longer fit. For toys, if your kids have not planned with them for the past six months, it is likely time for them to go! For the things that are staying, look for ways to keep them better orga<\/span>nised using stackable cr<\/span>ates<\/span>,<\/span>tote<\/span> bags and shelving. <\/span><\/p>\n

Project Spring Clean<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

A thorough wash is probably a good idea as well. Don\u2019t roll your eyes but planning is a big part in an effective spring clean. Know what you want to accomplish, make sure you have all the products you need, make a list \u2013 room by room \u2013 and get to it. <\/span><\/p>\n

Project Whistle While You Work<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

A great way to share the work load and teach children the importance of looking after their belongings is to get them involved. Plan work that is appropriate for them to do in advance. If th<\/span>ey are resistant, show them that famous \u2018cleaning the nursery\u201d clip from Mary Poppins: \u2026\u00a0<\/span>J<\/span>ust a spoon full of sugar helps the <\/span>medicine<\/span> go down, the medicine go down, the medicine go down!<\/span> Make it fun \u2013 like a game \u2013 and they will get involved in no time at all. <\/span><\/p>\n
