Some people think it is the best thing ever \u2013 you <\/span><span id=\"E-107\">get focussed <\/span><span id=\"E-108\">time to really crank through the <\/span><span id=\"E-109\">long list of things to do. <\/span><span id=\"E-110\">Others think that it is impossible to get anything done as there are constant d<\/span><span id=\"E-111\">istractions from the family<\/span><span id=\"E-112\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p id=\"E225\"><span id=\"E226\">If you do work from home, by choice or necessity, you have an ally \u2013 your Nanny! Working from the kitchen table or in the living room <\/span><span id=\"E236\">will invite <\/span><span id=\"E237\">distractions. <\/span><\/li>\n<li id=\"E238\" class=\"qowt-li-4_0 qowt-list qowt-stl-ListParagraph\"><span id=\"E239\">Hours of Operation<\/span><span id=\"E240\">: Establishing <\/span><span id=\"E241\">a set of working hours helps everyone fall into a <\/span><span id=\"E242\">known<\/span><span id=\"E243\"> routine.<\/span><\/li>\n<li id=\"E244\" class=\"qowt-li-4_0 qowt-list qowt-stl-ListParagraph\"><span id=\"E245\">Working<\/span><span id=\"E246\"> Rules<\/span><span id=\"E247\">: <\/span><span id=\"E248\">A closed door to the home office signal<\/span><span id=\"E249\">s <\/span><span id=\"E250\">that Mommy or Daddy is at work and should not be disturbed.<\/span><span id=\"E251\"> <\/span><span id=\"E252\">If a parent is needed, permission to enter is a must. <\/span><span id=\"E253\">Kids <\/span><span id=\"E254\">should <\/span><span id=\"E255\">be taught that the office is not a game room; <\/span><span id=\"E256\">no going through papers and drawers. <\/span><span id=\"E257\">Share the working rules with the entire family, and then repeat. <\/span><span id=\"E258\">And repeat again!<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p id=\"E259\"><em><span id=\"E260\">Requests from Nanny<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li id=\"E261\" class=\"qowt-li-4_0 qowt-list qowt-stl-ListParagraph\"><span id=\"E262\">Stick to the schedule and working rules<\/span><span id=\"E263\">: <\/span><span id=\"E264\">Once you established the ways of working, it is up to you to lead by example. Popping out to say hello frequently or inviting kids into the office for a midday play will cause confusion<\/span><span id=\"E265\"> <\/span><span id=\"E266\">and ultimately inhibit your ability to do your work.<\/span><\/li>\n<li id=\"E267\" class=\"qowt-li-4_0 qowt-list qowt-stl-ListParagraph\"><span id=\"E268\">You are doing your job, let Nanny do the same<\/span><span id=\"E269\">: <\/span><span id=\"E270\">Avoid undermining Nanny even though you are home and will have the natural instinct to jump in.
