Experience:
I am a co-op student at Brampton Civic Hospital in the therapy unit. I help with all the seniors on the floor. I visit most of the patients and have conversations with them. I porter them to where they need to go. I sit with the patients on 1:1 basis, i play cards every morning, have group trivias, help them excercise in bed and also walking. I am very patient and also respectful. I come across patients who reject what they need such as occupational therapy, but i talk to them in a calm voice and encourage them to accept the activity. I also learned about different lifting methods from beds to wheelchairs.
