Expérience:
Along with most the teenage girl population, I earned my Babysitters (Red Cross) certification at a young age and from age 12 and onwards made my means by babysitting neighbourhood children. At 16 I joined the Youths for Youth "Big Sister" Program, which had older high school aged children working with young children who come from disadvantaged backgrounds. I was paired with a young girl, age 9, with fetal alcohol syndrome. Through this wonderful experience I was able to gain not only a heightened sense of responsibility, but a sense of compassion when it comes to dealing with children and their personal goals and abilities. Each child is unique and requires specific care and through this program I was able to gain experience with how to handle and have fun with children of different ages and backgrounds!
