Experience:
I have an enormous love of children. I have cared for 3 siblings as a live-in nanny for a few weeks at a time, several times throughout a year when needed by the family. I have been babysitting since the age of 13.
My recent professional experience includes working as a Special Needs Assistant with a student with behavioural difficulties. My role included the provision of programming to assist in the child's development and advance the child's capacity to function within the classroom environment. I've been trained and worked as an Applied Behavioural (ABA) Therapist. The role of an ABA Therapist is to teach behaviours to individuals with Autism. ABA promotes social and language development and helps reduce the behaviours that interefere with learning and cognitive functioning. The areas of development through ABA Therapy include cognitive, communication, play, social and self-help skills
