Experience:
Not only have I studied child development, but I also have a lot of practical experience working with children of all ages. Throughout my youth I spent a lot of time either babysitting or helping my mother with her private daycare. Two years ago, I worked as a substitute teacher for the Eastern Shore School Board, where I worked with children from pre-kindergarten through high school across all subject areas. Around the same time, I worked as a youth activities animator. My primary role in this position was to launch and coordinate a youth centre for youth ages 12-17 in the town of New Carlisle, Quebec. Through this role I provided an animated meeting place where young people can develop their interests, improve their abilities, and become discerning, active and responsible citizens. More recently, I have worked as a part time nanny for a year and a half with a boy who is now 6 years old and will be graduating kindergarten this month
