Hello, my name is Emily Carrier and I am 21 years old. Throughout my university career, I have developed important skills such as active listening and emotion management, which are essential to support children in their development. The well-being of children is particularly close to my heart, both through my courses in child psychology and mental health, and through my role as a big sister. I have often looked after my 11-year-old sister and my 2-year-old brother, in addition to babysitting to help out when I could. These experiences have taught me how to manage different situations, adapt to the unique needs of each child, and create a warm and secure environment. My work at the CIUSS in mental health with young people has also allowed me to acquire solid experience in supporting those who are going through difficult times, which makes me able to understand the emotional needs of children and respond to them with patience.
