Experience:
I, myself, own five rats, am a foster parent for ratties when the need arises (I'm fostering two girls right now, actually), own four cats (who are friendly with the rats thanks to some careful attention and conditioning), have owned dogs, horses, rabbits, birds of various kinds, a snake, various fish of both salt and fresh water varieties, as well as chickens, goats and of course my personal favorite, a pair of foxes. How is this possible? I live with a foster family once who own an animal rehabilitation clinic for pets and wild animals alike. Don't ask me the name or location of the place; I'm not actually allowed to give that information out, due to legal issues.
