Experience:
I lived in an apartment with my parents before moving to Trinity College residence at U of T. I am a first year undergraduate student now. I was a senior caregiver for a lady on my apartment floor who was suffering form skin cancer. My duties were: having interesting and fun conversations with her, making her tea and snacks, changing her diaper and assist her if she asked me to do anything for her.
Also, I volunteered at a senior home, Malton Long Term Care Center. I would play games with residents, attend social events, one on one conversations with people who didn't have anyone, feeding dinner to some residents who need help. Some of the residents had Alzheimer's, hyperactivity situations, but we all had a good time whenever we met.
There is so much value in giving joy and care to people. I loved my experience!
