During the 8 years that I worked with young people and adults living with an intellectual disability, an autism spectrum disorder or a disability, I learned to adapt my interventions in order to promote the full development of people. Supporting the development of social skills, professional skills and appropriate behaviors requires patience, perseverance, authenticity and above all an ability to see the full potential of people. The relationship with caregivers is also a valuable part of working with people living with ID, ASD or a disability.
