Experience:

I have been working with special needs individuals in a group home since last summer. I began as a summer student and during the school year stayed on as a casual employee. I went back to full time for this summer as well. I am used to clients who need 24 hour care/watch and assistance with tasks beyond their abilities. I have worked closely with clients who have downs syndrome, autism, and developemental disability. In the home, we not only care for clients (hygiene, sensory activities, getting out in the community, administering meds) but also help take care of their home by cooking, cleaning, and doing whatever maintenance we are able to do.
