Hello.
I am Julie, a 20-year-old student at McGill University. I am currently in my second year of studies in Psychology. This means I have a lot of knowledge on disorders and disabilities. This past summer, I spent one month in Ha Noi, Vietnam, where I worked in a school for autistic children, ranging from ages 5-18. A lot of these children and adolescents were severely autistic, nonverbal, and accompanied by other disorders, such as OCD. It was definitely a challenge for me, but I had an amazing time connecting with these children and learning more about them. I enjoy helping people out, whether it's with schoolwork, going to the park, drawing, or just sitting and talking. Since this is the field I would love to work in once I am out of school, I believe it would be a great experience for me to be a special needs caregiver. In addition, I am very responsible, patient and a great listener.
