Hello, I am helping my elderly aunt and uncle look for in-home care. They are very caring individuals however my uncles health is declining and putting too much stress (mentally and physically) on my aunt. 2x retired university professors, well educated, clean, have a nice home (stair lift), are still able to drive but looking to reduce. looking for live-out but possibly willing to live-in during short periods 2-3 times a year. if aunt out of town Aunt still has a social life. Quite autonomous, they both are really, but in the early stages of needing help. Uncle stays at home mostly and suffers from arthritis, balance issues, early signs of memory loss, anxiety when my aunt is not around. dietary concerns. uncle used to be an incredible cook, arthritis and tactile issues limit his abilities, Also, he goes to the grocery store with a list and comes back with half of what was asked for primarily because I think he gets frustrated and leaves. Basic housework also a challenge.
