My 71 year old mother has a neurodegenerative condition that is making her progressively unable to walk, a variant of PSP (progressive supranuclear palsy). She freezes when she tries to start walking, turn or go through a door. Additionally, she has muscle stiffness in her shoulders, making it difficult for her to lift her arms above shoulder level. I am looking for a reliable and experienced person to assist my mother in her daily life in terms of personal care, mobility, meal preparation. Help with 2 showers per week. Clean her dresser in the morning. Daily mobility assistance: help get in and out of chairs; ensure safety when walking using her walker; push her in her walker. Create opportunities for socialization and mental stimulation to prolong my mother's ability to live at home.
