Experience:
I worked as aupair in Germany for 18 months. I took care of three kids aged 2, 4, and 6, two girls and a boy, each one with a very different personality. The mom was firm with them and wanted them to behave in a certain way, so she asked me to be firm while knowing that they are kids, not soldiers, and they like playing and being goofy sometimes. So I am the kind of babysitter the parents need me to be. If rules need to be followed, that's good and I can keep up. If the parents are looking for someone to play with the kids, take them outside, help them with their homworks, it's good too.
