Experience:
In the past, I have worked with special needs children, however, I would like to also gain new experience working as a standard child caregiver. If you are looking for some extra help a couple hours a week; on the weekend; or as occasional help, feel free to contact me.
My love for special needs children led me to work as a caregiver for an autistic child, for two years. I assisted him after school – playing educational activities, helping him with homework and preparing dinner. Together we would play educational computer programs, as well as reading books, puzzles and using pictograms to work on his language skills.
I have also cared for my younger sister who is also intellectually delayed. I have assisted her in her everyday functions, as well as engaged her in basic educational activities to stimulate her use of language.
