Experience:
I am a student seeking part time work as a babysitter, with years of experience in child and youth care. I first realized my love for children babysitting my neighbours as a teen, and continued exploring this as a nanny for a 3 year old. After loving working as a nanny, I pursued a job as a camp counsellor for underprivileged children receiving youth protection services last summer. This is something that aligns closely with my nearly complete bachelors degree in sociology, where I have learned extensively about the importance of many key principles for safe and healthy childcare. For instance, I have a good understanding of child development, empathy, and communication, which are all key for caring for children with diverse needs. Thanks to my experience, I am able to employ strong interpersonal skills and develop good rapport with all sorts of children, focussing on active listening and catching social cues. I understand how to get to the root of behaviours, but I am also very fun!
