I began babysitting when my aunt had her first child, when I was about 12 years old. She taught me how to change diapers, make bottles, how to put newborns to sleep and other important things. I babysat him while she cleaned, then as he got older she would go out for a couples hours, eventually i was watching him overnights. She had another son so i began watching them both at the same time. I stopped babysitting once the oldest turned 6. My responsibilites were too change diapers, prepare meals and snacks, bottle feed, sometimes prepare a bottle, play games, take them to the park, read stories, put them to bed, late night feedings etc.
