Experience:
I respect the elderly as they deserve. They are equal members of the family and deserve to be treated as such without being childish. For more advanced cases of cognitive loss, I even have a reborn doll that I can take with me to allow them to relive distant memories. I currently live in a bi-generational relationship with my 80-year-old grandparents and I see them every day. I cherish these moments and I do so in a respectful and equal manner and this is how all elders should be treated.
