Experience:
Although I do not have any experience working as a special needs caregiver growing up my mother worked as both an in-home worker for both a child who had down syndrome, and a child who had autism. I would go with her to her work and got to experience first hand how to make the child feel comfortable and loved. As well, my mother also worked at a Children's rehabilitation center so I grew up surrounded by children who had special needs and learned how to interact with them and they became my friends.
