Experience:
I started working in a seniors' residence at the age of 13 for 4 years. Some residents required special assistance due to one or more limitations.
I worked with non-verbal children and adults for several months. I assisted a family at home with their son who has cerebral palsy.
I grew up with an uncle with Down syndrome, so I am familiar with the challenges that can be related to this difference. Additionally, several people in my family live with myotonic dystrophy.
I started the course 'Intervention with people with disabilities', which allowed me to acquire a general knowledge of the different disabilities.
